MY BACKGROUND

Hi Everyone,
My name is Bill Outhwaite and I suppose you would like to know a bit more about me? Okay, I started playing when I was about twelve years old. I joined a Scout and Guide Marching Band located in Davyhulme Greater Manchester. That was around 1968. Since then I have always been involved with music, bands etc. I have been a Band Leader for an all girl marching band up until 1985 when we had to disband. I currently play for the Ashton on Mersey Showband as their  kit player. I am also a Multi-Instrumentalist. For those wondering what that is...... well it involves everything else percussion wise. Shakers,Casaba's,Castanets,Triangles,Bongos,Cajun,Claves....the list goes on. I have played with the local Rock Band Obsidian and I have also played with The Vincents who are a fantastic Rock and Roll band from the early 60's and they are still going strong. 
I have been teaching and advising on drum playing and technique for almost 50 years. Every time I get behind a kit it feels just as great now as it did all those years ago. My passion has not diminished through the years and it never will. I get great pleasure from helping other people , young and not so young, achieve their potential through drumming.
